10 Fun Places To Visit In Cheshire With Your Family

This is a collaborative post.

Cheshire is a lovely place to visit in the United Kingdom. It has a wonderful landscape: palatine and maritime, flanked by the Pennine uplands, partly within the Peak District National Park, to the east, it’s probably one of the most underrated beauty of the country. It is mostly rural, with a number of small industrial towns and pretty villages.

We have visited a few places with the children –  but I know there are so many fun things to do around, so here’s a great list put together by myself and some Cheshire resident bloggers.

10 Fun Places To Visit In Cheshire With Your Family

Canals of Middlewich

A narrowboat trip is a very laid-back way of seeing the Cheshire countryside. You can also visit the Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival in June, great fun for both children and grown-ups.

As the Peak District is just a mile outside the town, there are plenty of outdoorsy opportunities. Discover the Ruin of Errwood Hall, Tegg’s Nose Country Park for walking and cycling  and lots of farms to visit.

Wilmslow The Footballers’ Residence

If you fancy a bit of a shopping, and celebrity spotting, this posh little town is not to miss: lots of high-end boutiques and restaurants with famous footballers hanging out. And if you are looking for properties in the area check out https://www.laurushomes.co.uk/cheshire/

The Ice Cream Farm in Tattenhall

A trip to the Ice Cream Farm is a must. Open all year round, it’s great for kids but adults too can pop in for a tasty snack. Best of all, entry is free! Beth from Twinderelmo

Blakemere Village

Blakemere Village is a fab place to visit. It’s a unique collective of independent shops and activities, including segway and archery experiences, a craft workshop, a play barn plus food and drink outlets. They have fab events throughout the year, we went before Christmas to find Father Christmas in the magical forest. Jenni from Chilling With Lucas
