With summer with the wedding season on it’s way it’s time for another few girl friend of mine to get married. I love weddings, but of course the hen do is the main fun factor during every wedding planning. And of course someone has to organise that for the bride, as there supposed to be a couple of surprise elements to it.
A lot of hen parties are about going away with your friends for a night or two, it’s more about the getting away together kind of experience these days, rather than just hitting the town in ridiculous outfits. As I think more and more people opt for the first one you can now book all the activities and experiences in advance making sure that everything goes smooth during your stay, so you can concentrate on having fun and relaxing.
When it comes to the travel part, many people prefer a beach location or a pretty town with spa facilities and booking a nice hotel. After all, people these days get married later in their life, so they don’t want to stay hostels. Bournemouth is a great hen party destination, it has everything you need. Here are my best tips and things you could do for a a successful hen do trip to Bournemouth.
Book a spa treatment
This has got to be really on the top of the list: a facial or a massage, light lunch and champagne – I can’t imagine anything more fitting, definitely a hen party check list item. Bournemouth has some nice beachfront hotels with spas.
Fun in the sun
There are plenty of things to do if your party has nature lovers: the coastline is beautiful and weather you choose raft building (work as a team to build a raft that stays afloat), coasteering (getting along the shoreline by involving swimming, climbing, and anything to scramble and crawl your way through), canoeing or bushcraft. Surviving the hen do gets a literal meaning.
Special attractions
Bournemouth offers both Murder Mystery events (these are private events and a great opportunity for dressing up as a character) and Escape Rooms, both are really trendy these day, loads of thrilling fun.
Before hitting town
Bournemouth has a great night life but before going out why not take a masterclass in cocktail making? Make delicious cocktails and learn some new skills. Or take dance lessons from a professional choreographers and learn how do those famous moves from Dirty Dancing!
Book the boys
And finally, if you fancy a male strip show, remember, it’s hen party, so on what other occasions can you do that if not on your hen party?
