Why choose a spiral staircase
If you have the right space for spiral staircase to install, this website believes many houses and apartments can benefit from the use of spiral staircases. They work well for open floor plans and also in very small living space, which makes them a perfect choice for almost everyone. Spiral staircases are a classic element that can add sophistication to your home.
Here are the advantages of choosing them:
1. They save space
Probably the biggest advantage of spiral staircases as well as the most obvious: it doesn’t need as much space as the linear staircase. They optimise floor space potential. By adding a spiral staircase will help you to solve two problems at the same time: you can save space and make a bold design statement. There’s a lot you can do with them, just take a look at these staircase ideas.
2. It’s totally stylish
As I stated in the previous point, they make a bold design statement. They make a lovely feature both in houses and small flats. You can often find them in designer homes as they combine functionality with style. They offer a perfect view and a different perspective onto the surrounding space: a glamorous living room with beautiful furniture for instance.
3. They don’t cost the earth
You can buy spiral staircase kits to fit standard spaces. Fontanotshop UK has a wide range of spiral staircases to choose from as well as lots of inspiring ideas on the best way to use them.
4. Easy to install
They are easier to assemble than regular stairs. As most of them come in a kit ready to assemble with instructions and even pdf or video presentation of the process – they are easy to set up.
5. They can combine different materials
Weather you prefer a solid steel structure featuring wooden treads or plastic coated steel balusters non-slip panels – it’s entirely up to you what combination fits the best for your interior design requirements. Metal spiral stairs in the UK is definitely the most popular choice.
6. They are functional and safe
The handrails, the non-slip mats are all there for your safety. Also, spiral steps sold in the UK are all has to comply with British Standards and The Building Regulations. ll stairs can mean danger to the very little children and the elderly, but with spiral staircases, if users fall on a spiral staircase, they are much less likely to fall all the way down the to the floor, because the curve of the stairs will break their fall.
7. They are better customisable
Lots of choices of design and materials are available so you will be better able to custom create a spiral staircase that’s perfect for your own home design.
8. They add value to your property
Spiral staircases are highly appreciated by architects and designers for the pace they can create and for their dynamic forms. For their functionality and safety they are regarded as a positive selling point.

Hubby had a spiral staircase in his old house and it was very pretty but totally impractical…….have you ever tried getting a double bed up one?
I’ve always thought there was something amazing about a spiral staircase, they really look so beautiful.
I like the look of them but from a practical point of view I don’t think I’d want one in my house because it would make bringing stuff up and down a bit trickier x
I’ve always loved spiral staircase as I love the look of it, even as a child. Our home has never had one, but if we ever did renovate it, I would love to instal a spiral staircase.
I wish we had a spiral staircase as they look very stylish, like the ones in the movies!
My husband and I are building our dream house right now and I wondered what other unique features I want in my house. I didn’t know a spiral staircase could save space in your house, as well as make a bold design statement. We don’t want our house to be too big so saving space wherever we can is a lifesaver for us; I’ll have to hire someone to come to the house to see if a spiral staircase is something I can have, thanks to this article!
