Sponsored post by Bailey of Bristol. The summer of 2020 was something nobody will forget. I don’t know about you, but for me it was a definite realisation that for the near future staycations and self-catering holidays are the way forward. We’ve been trying to do more of this anyway, as a bid to reduce flying and our carbon footprint. Travelling AND Social Distancing Social distancing is of course the big change we’re all having to learn to live with as of 2020. While it’s there for a reason – to keep us safe – it’s not without its difficulties. …

Back in August, after yet another cancellation of our yearly French holiday (we did try different ways to travel to France this summer since things were booked back last year, but after the second set of Eurostar bookings were cancelled, we gave up) we were facing with 3 weeks of being stuck in the UK. The kids were really looking forward being on holiday and not being able to book a single week anywhere at a reasonable price. Plus the weather turned bad as well. So we looked at the map, checked where the storm was less likely to hit …
Stonehenge has been on our (my) bucket list for a long time: Bobcat has been obsessed with landmarks for a while, especially Stonehenge and I actually never managed to visit it ever since I’ve been living in the UK. So this summer, since we were staying near Basingstoke we went around for a day out. I don’t know if we’ve been lucky or has it been just down to the Covid-19 restrictions or other people just worried that it’s surely super busy: but it wasn’t at all. We went on a weekday and we didn’t have to queue for nothing. …
We have visited the New Forest Wildlife Park two or three times so far, last time it was a few weeks ago, in the summer of Covid-19. Some things changed, some aren’t. I have old and new photos, so I thought put a post together of why we like it there. We do like the New Forest and this wildlife park is a real gem. It’s not only good fun but educational too: the children encounter threatened and endangered species and will become aware of issues surrounding environmental changes and pollution and the need for wildlife protection and conservation. And …
Review: Burlington Mansions Holiday Apartments Boscombe
This year was very weird for all of us. Travel-wise as well: we had two trips cancelled this summer. One was our regular summer visit of the grandparents in Hungary which was a bit of a heartache for me, I’m just desperate to for the children to spend more time with my parents as they are getting older. The other one would have been our family holiday in France, but of course that has been cancelled too, because we just don’t want to quarantine as the children need to start school. So we booked a few days here and there …
Covid-19 Update We have just recently visited Legoland again, in July 2020 and I thought I pop a quick update here about the Covid-19 safety measures. Parking and arriving So first of all, it was a very hot day on our Legoland Windsor Visit. But arriving, parking the car and getting inside Legoland was no problem whatsoever (as opposed to our pre-Covid experience). They didn’t even scan the tickets and parking lot bookings. When inside the park, we noticed that it wasn’t busy at all, there were about 1/4 of the normal crowd of a weekday in July. However, the …
