We received the toys in exchange for this review post.

We already bought quite a few birthday presents from Wicked Uncle, it has been my go to site for children gifts for the past 2 years since I came across them. This time, for my girlie’s birthday (she turned three last weekend) I let her to pick her presents from Wicked Uncle. Of course, they did not disappoint, as per usual.

Ecofriendly Toys From Wicked Uncle - Review

What she chose:

Doctor On Call – Wooden 7 Piece Set

Includes a stethoscope, syringe, blood pressure monitor, temperature gauge, thermometer, tube of pretend ointment and a mini notepad. Comes in a little red canvas carry case.

My daughter absolutely loves role plays and indeed one of her favourite is (apart from playing with her toy kitchen) is pretending to be a doctor which started after falling in love with the story of Zog (in which Princess Pearl becomes a doctor). From my part of course I’m really happy that this Hape set is wooden.

Melissa & Doug Sweet Hearts Wooden Bead Set

She picked this because she loved the coordinating colours of pinks, purples and blues (her favourite colours). The set contains over 120 wooden beads and 5 cords, so it’s hours of fun. In my opinion this makes a great travel toy too. We love Melissa & Doug toys of course, so this is a great addition to our collection. (This set is a top seller on the page and I can see why!)

More importantly of course, the main reason these were included what she could have picked from, is that they are made of wood and not plastic.

I think both toys are priced very reasonably given the quality materials and the timeless designs. The bead set is great to promote fine motor skills as well as creativity and role/pretend play is also an important milestone. Both toys can be played with for years starting at around my daughter’s age I’d say.
