As we prepare to gradually come out of lockdown, the rules are becoming more relaxed, and we’re able to return to what is known as the “new normal”, it’s time to get into a new routine again. It may have taken some time, but many people have settled into this new way of lockdown life and going back to the way things were, now seems unthinkable. Not just the idea of mixing with people and shopping in clothes stores again, but getting up and going out, taking the kids to school and going back to work all seems so long ago, so how will you get into this new routine? It can be tricky to break old routines and form new ones, especially in such a short space of time but think about how quickly you adapted to this one; you can do it again. The key though is to make sure you don’t rush into it and over exhaust yourself. Take baby steps, start slowly and then get back to the normal pace and be prepared to feel tired and strange.
Stop consuming caffeine
In order to change your everyday routine, you need to start from first thing in the morning, and that will be with your sleep. First of all, you need a good night’s sleep and then what you do when you wake up is very important. Did you know that caffeine can disrupt your sleep cycle, which eventually will disrupt your routine, so don’t start the day with a cup of coffee, try an alternative and buy CBD hydration powder online, which is a great way to kick start your day and won’t mess up your sleep.
Prepare a to-do list a night before
Once you are getting a good sleep, and in a good cycle, you will be in the habit of waking up early in the morning feeling refreshed. Because there’s going to be more things to do now, it’s important that you have a plan of action ready so that you’re ready to go. Write this the night before, so you don’t waste any time. Also, if you have a to-do list, you are likely to prioritize better.
Move your body
Although many people have been getting their one hour a day exercise, it is important to keep this up now even though you may have less time and more things to do. Make time for that walk in the park or bike ride with the family; this is definitely a habit you should keep in the new normal.
Eat light meals
You might find that as you’re busier, you may feel hungrier, but be careful what you eat. Consuming heavy snacks can make you feel drowsy, and can also distract you from your work; therefore, eat light, and keep focused.
Limit your binge watching
While it’s been nice to have the time to binge-watch whatever you want, this needs to be one habit that you should cut. Otherwise, you’ll end up wasting a lot of time. Don’t stop yourself immediately, try limiting your timing or number of episodes. Tone down five episodes to three episodes and then to one episode.
