About Charlie and Nell – Sustainable Baby Clothes

Charlie and Nell, making sustainability accessible, stylish and most importantly, comfortable. Our journey began in 2018, fuelled by a personal quest for unique baby clothes. Tired of the same bland, gender-neutral offerings dominating the market, after graduating from Fashion Design, I set out to create a solution.

The origin story of Charlie & Nell is one of breaking free from stereotypes. It’s about challenging the norms of the industry and creating a capsule collection that speaks to the desire for distinctive, durable, and environmentally conscious baby clothes. Our designs boast adjustability for extended wear, durability to withstand daily adventures, and a vibrant colour palette that embodies the spirit of childhood and breaks the gender stereotype children fall subconsciously into.

In the fast-paced world of children’s fashion, Charlie & Nell stands as an oasis of slow fashion—an environmentally friendly brand committed to sustainability. Accommodating cloth bums and crafted for longevity, each piece is designed not just for one child but with the intention of being passed down, fostering a circular fashion economy.

The name Charlie & Nell pays homage to my Grandma, the cornerstone of this creative journey. She was not only my first sewing teacher but also the inspiration behind the brand. Charlie and Nell were her parents, and their legacy lives on in every meticulously crafted piece of sustainable baby clothes.
