As you know, I love bringing sustainable and ethical brands to your attention, when I think they deserve the spotlight. This time, I have Fields Apparel to introduce, not only making clothes the right way but also specialising in cool, causal men’s fashion (as they put it: the clothes you would wear to pop down to the pub) – and there aren’t a lot of options on the market. These garments are also suitable for women – they look super cool in smaller sizes worn by women.
There are so few brands out there, making good looking, comfortable clothing for men that are also sustainable and ethical. Right? I definitely noticed the lack of options for the guys. So let’s get to know Fields Apparel a bit better – and a lucky reader will also win £100 voucher to spend in their online shop!
About Fields Apparel
Andy, who founded Fields Apparel, has been experimenting with eco fabrics such as hemp and organic cotton. Like a lot of small and indy businesses lately, Andy had the idea of setting up Fields Apparel during lockdown (I mean, as much as I hated some aspects of the lockdowns, I really embraced others: lots of small businesses thrived, yet our collective overconsumption dropped). His designs are inspired by band tees, truck logos, music, food, drink and clothing. So basically, laid back designs that look good to wear to the pub.
Organic cotton and hemp, the latter being the favourite for many reasons (carbon negative raw material, does not require any herbicides and consumes less water compared to cotton or other natural fabrics). They use water based prints for the t-shirts, these are phthalate free inks and are environmentally friendly. Where they need to use synthetic materials, they use recycled polyester made from post consumer plastics, like water bottles.
All tags and packaging are plastic-free. The tags are made of recycled paper and with hemp twine.
The garments are made in manufacturing facilities powered by green renewable energy, from low-impact raw materials. The carbon footprint of the products has been reduced by some 90% and the calculations were certified under the PAS2050 standard by the Carbon Trust ® Produced exclusively from organic Indian cotton.
