Some gifted products.
One of my favourite thing about my blog is that I have this massive opportunity to make a difference. I use my blog to spread the word and make people aware of ethical and green issues. I find that the best way is to do this by introducing other eco-friendly options, that are positive choices for people and planet. We don’t have to accept and buy the goods big labels and glossy adverts are trying to sell us. Money is a vote which you can use every time you go shopping. By using your spending power wisely you can help to create a better, healthier and greener world.
With that in mind, the idea to create a new monthly review series called “My Ethical And Green Picks Of The Month” was born. The posts are to introduce all the small shops and indie brands which produce and sells ethically produced, eco-friendly, organic, natural, cruelty – free and fairly traded goods, that are alternatives to everyday items such as fast fashion, processed food, cosmetics and cleaners containing toxins and harmful chemicals.

Learn to live more sustainably – book
Living green is not hard at all – but if you need a little help to start off, this is a great book full of easy, achievable tips and hacks. Basically it’s about sustainable house keeping with common sense.
Living Green Made Easy (Bluebird Books For Life) from Sunday Times bestselling author and Great British Bake Off winner Nancy Birtwhistle is the ultimate guide to reducing your environmental impact while saving you time and money.
Handmade and natural skincare
I think I can’t emphasise how lovely it is to buy natural skin and bath care products from small and indy businesses like The Scrub Shop. They are not only amazing products – my children enjoyed their bath bombs so much, and the soaps smell fantastic too! – but it’s lovely to support a small business, someone, who lovingly handmade these soaps and also, they are good for your skin for the environment, they are plastic free and cost less than the “fancy” big brand products. All round win!

Received some ethically sourced and single sourced coffee from Two Chimps Coffee. It’s a climate-positive coffee roastery based in Rutland. Two Chimps Coffee sources the finest speciality beans from single farms and estates and roast in small batches throughout the week. All their coffees are ethically sourced and vegan.
I picked a blend that is called Off To Plant A Glitter Tree. I know, how fun that name is?? A strawberry-sweet single origin coffee from the Sasini Estate in Kenya. Take note of the Natural Process – it’s relatively rare for Kenyan coffee.
With Two Chimps Coffee you can buy different sizes and grinds and you can also subscribe for a regular coffee delivery.
Joy journalling and self-care
Another great book this month – this one is rather a self-care activity in action: a joy journal for grown-ups. Ohh so what does that mean? It’s a form of self-care, slowing down and enjoying simple activities by creating something beautiful or useful. The book invites you to experiment, play and unlock your creative potential with a range of simple crafts that can bring a little more calm into your everyday life. Using store-cupboard ingredients and easily foraged supplies, this beautifully illustrated handbook includes new and inspiring ideas for adding a personal touch to celebrations, creating unique gifts, and making stunning keepsakes.
