Gifted products.
One of my favourite thing about my blog is that I have this massive opportunity to make a difference. I use my blog to spread the word and make people aware of ethical and green issues. I find that the best way is to do this by introducing other options, such as ethical products that are positive choices for people and planet. We don’t have to accept and buy the goods big labels and glossy adverts are trying to sell us. Money is a vote which you can use every time you go shopping. By using your spending power wisely you can help to create a better, healthier and greener world.
With that in mind, the idea to create a new monthly review series called “My Ethical And Green Picks Of The Month” was born. The posts are to introduce all the small shops and indie brands which produce and sells ethically produced, eco-friendly, organic, natural, cruelty – free and fairly traded goods, that are alternatives to everyday items such as fast fashion, processed food, cosmetics and cleaners containing toxins and harmful chemicals.
Reusable is the future
LastObject is now a well known brand for their ingenious reusables, like LastTissue and LastSwab. Now they have a few new items to offer in the LastObject family.

LastSwab provides an eco friendly alternative to the many uses of single use q-tips without the large environmental footprint.
LastTissue: the easy, on-the-go availability of the tissue pack and the zero waste, soft-on-the-nose handkerchief.
LastTissue Refill: A reusable alternative to single-use tissues that can be washed 520 times. Each pack contains 6 organic and soft cotton tissues that are reusable alternatives to single-use tissues.

Laundry Bag: The LastObject Laundry Bag is an eco-friendly and sustainable washing bag for LastTissue.
Eco conscious luxury gifts
Quiet Blue has a lovely range of the finest artisanal and ethical products that share their core values of providing eco-friendly, sustainable design with 100% natural ingredients and plastic free packaging. I’ve received this soy wax candle with fig scent (one of my favourites) with the exotic blend of Green fig, bergamot & jasmine essential oils.
And this Surf & Suntan soap (vegan and palm free, hand made with cold process) which I fell in love already when I read the name of it. I’m sold! The scent of it is really amazing. It’s scented with a mouthwatering luscious medley of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cocoa, maple, walnut, citrus and caramel. But when you smell it, it really reminds you of the warm sunshine at the beach, the scent of the sun kissed skin. Absolutely amazing. Just what I needed as a little pick me. up.
Plastic free bath bars for kids
Really filling the gap for eco-friendly, natural and plastic free ethical products that are designed for the children’s delicate skin, Rowdy Kind is really raising the bar. Their Hair & Everywhere Bars are the appropriate pH level. They are made with allergen-free scents and the highest-quality gentle cleansing ingredients. They have no sulfates, parabens or PEGs. They are also plastic free, vegan-friendly, cruelty free, sustainably sourced, and biodegradable. Handmade in the UK.
Rowdy Kind gives back too: exactly one month after their launch in March 2020, they donated all of their profits from their first production run to the Surrey Care Trust to support families in need during the Covid-19 pandemic.
They just added a new scent to their bath bar collection: Orange You Awesome – and I’m tempted to steal it for myself!
Zero Waste Shopping
For those who know me, it’s now not much of a secret: with another mum of Bobcat’s class, I’m opening a real, physical zero waste shop in South-West London where we live. It’s only a few more weeks to go hopefully and I’m planning to document it on the blog as well. We will offer all sorts of food and non-food items in our refill shop, free local delivery and UK wide shipping as well. We already have a web shop up, check us out at https://www.refillogic.co.uk
Swap for eco-friendly energy provider and ethical bank
As part of trying to make changes in what are we financing with our money, this month I swapped for Triodos bank and to Bulb as energy provider.
Triodos Bank’s mission is to help create a society that protects and promotes quality of life and human dignity for all. Since 1980, their sustainable financial products have enabled individuals and organisations to use their money in ways that benefit people and the environment.
We have also swapped for Bulb as energy provider. It took two minutes to do and we only have to do it once. Not only making the world greener and safer but it can also save some money for you. Bulb offers 100% renewable electricity from solar, wind and hydro and 100% carbon neutral gas. As a Bulb member, I lower my carbon impact by 3.4 tonnes of CO2 a year. That’s the hard work of around 1,689 trees. This link gives us both £50 free energy if you sign up.
Which of these ethical products you swap in your home? Let me know in the comments!

The Surf & Suntan soap looks beautiful and I can almost imagine the smell. I imagine it gives you such summer vibes even when the weather is freezing? I love the look of the kids bath bar too. I’ll have to look into them for when my daughter’s bath things run out.
