My Ethical And Green Picks Of The Month: July 2021

Gifted products.

One of my favourite thing about my blog is that I have this massive opportunity to make a difference. I use my blog to spread the word and make people aware of ethical and green issues. I find that the best way is to do this by introducing other eco friendly options, that are positive choices for people and planet. We don’t have to accept and buy the goods big labels and glossy adverts are trying to sell us. Money is a vote which you can use every time you go shopping. By using your spending power wisely you can help to create a better, healthier and greener world.

With that in mind, the idea to create a new monthly review series called “My Ethical And Green Picks Of The Month” was born. The posts are to introduce all the small shops and indie brands which produce and sells ethically produced, eco-friendly, organic, natural, cruelty – free and fairly traded goods, that are alternatives to everyday items such as fast fashion, processed food, cosmetics and cleaners containing toxins and harmful chemicals.

Soap bars for everything

I am a huge fan of soap bars – I now have completely switched for soap bars for everything: body, face, hair – I even have body moisturiser bars. They are not only plastic free but they work like magic. Foamie kindly send a few pieces from their product range:

  • Cleansing Face Bar
  • Coconut Shampoo Bar
  • Shower Body Bars
  • Travel Buddy (travel case)

They all smell amazing and I love the little cotton hangers so the soaps can be hung and won’t get mushy in the shower. What’s more important though is the quality of the bars.

Non – Toxic Crayons

Funning Up My Crayons is a small business run by an eco-friendly minded mum, who worked out the perfect formula to create non-toxic shaped crayons with vegan ingredients and sends them in plastic free/recycled packaging.

Refillable Deodorant

New kid on the refillable deo block: Fussy. The idea is that you buy the case once and then just buy the refills. The refills come in compostable paper packaging. The deodorant is all natural, free from aluminium, parabens and 100% vegan. Fussy is also carbon neutral. I recived the ocean blue case with the Night Tale fragrance deo stick – it’s a lovely scent, the combination of cedar, cinnamon and rose is lovely and floral. You can buy a one off, buy a scent pack or subscribe – which will also save you money.

Lemonade With Purpose

Karma Cola is the most ethical soft drink maker in the world – I love their products, especially the Cola, they are packaged in glass and cans so that’s a thumbs up from me. 1% of revenue from every Karma Drink goes to the Cola nut growers and their communities in Sierra Leone, and The Foundation guarantees the funds raised help drive economic and social independence. I received some of their very summery Razza lemonade drinks. Natural raspberry, organic lemons and Fairtrade organic cane sugar. Karma drinks are vegan, approved by the Soil Association and GMO-free.
