My Ethical And Green Picks Of The Month: November

In collaboration with the featured brands.

One of my favourite thing about my blog is that I have this massive opportunity to make a difference. I use my blog to spread the word and make people aware of green and ethical issues. I find, that the best way is to do this by introducing other options, that are positive choices for people and planet. We don’t have to accept and buy the goods big labels and glossy adverts are trying to sell us. Money is a vote which you can use every time you go shopping. By using your spending power wisely you can help to create a better, healthier and greener world.

With that in mind, the idea to create a new monthly review series called “My Ethical And Green Picks Of The Month” was born. The posts are to introduce all the small shops and indie brands who produces and sells ethically produced, eco-friendly, organic, natural, cruelty – free and fairly traded goods, that are alternatives to everyday items such as fast fashion, processed food, cosmetics and cleaners containing toxins and harmful chemicals. My aim is to inspire you to choose positive buying. To reverse reducing the power of local communities, to stop overconsumption, abusing animals and wasting our natural resources.

So let’s get started and see what are my favourites this month!

The organic one

I’ve been always a big fan of bright and bold baby and children clothing. I can’t stand the monochrome, soft grey and soft beige trend. Luckily both my children love bright colours – but I think every children do. Just ask them or make them pick! I bet all children would pick a bright yellow colour over soft grey. Bold colours are also gender neutral, which is another thing I really want to promote for my children. I let Bobcat to choose purple and pink things because he likes them! I don’t want him to tell me that it’s for girls. Whilst I know that day may well come soon – it is because of all the stereotypes he’s currently learning from others. Therefore it is important that as long as we have a say as parents, refuse to conform to gender stereotypes and promote gender equality form early age. Beeboobuzz has a fantastic range of organic cotton baby and children’s clothes. Their cotton is organic and is woven and dyed in the UK and our clothes are also manufactured in the U.K.

The zero waste one

Cannot emphasise the importance of swapping regular, plastic straws for bamboo straws. Paper ones are a baby step forward but unfortunately, still not good enough. White Springs small company specialising in bamboo products, and as a start up they are currently selling high quality bamboo drinking straws. Bamboo straws are the answer – because we all need to shift our view from recycling to zero waste. To NOT producing waste. Apart form the this reason there are plenty other reasons to make this switch: the straws are organic, reusable, biodegradable. Suitable for all types of drinks – hot or cold. They come with a handbag size carry bag to take your straws with you. They are easy to clean, even lipstick marks can be easily removed – just use the provided cleaning brushes.
