Gifted products.
One of my favourite thing about my blog is that I have this massive opportunity to make a difference. I use my blog to spread the word and make people aware of green and ethical issues. I find, that the best way is to do this by introducing other options, that are positive choices for people and planet. We don’t have to accept and buy the goods big labels and glossy adverts are trying to sell us. Money is a vote which you can use every time you go shopping. By using your spending power wisely you can help to create a better, healthier and greener world.
With that in mind, the idea to create a new monthly review series called “My Ethical And Green Picks Of The Month” was born. The posts are to introduce all the small shops and indie brands who produces and sells ethically produced, eco-friendly, organic, natural, cruelty – free and fairly traded goods, that are alternatives to everyday items such as fast fashion, processed food, cosmetics and cleaners containing toxins and harmful chemicals. My aim is to inspire you to choose positive buying. To reverse reducing the power of local communities, to stop overconsumption, abusing animals and wasting our natural resources.
OceanBluu Organic Kids Clothing and Bedding
OceanBluu was founded with a simple mission: produce healthy, sustainable, unique design bedding, pyjamas & underwear that are soft and safe for your children and our planet. The brand is one of only a few companies certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard and Fairtrade Foundation, offering truly sustainable products.
We have received bedding sets, pyjamas and underwear for the children and the quality of the products is truly outstanding. The bedding is made of 300TC satin – sourced from farms in India practicing traditional methods of growing and hand picking the cotton and it’s super soft and silk like. I absolutely in love with the prints and colours too. Funny lemurs, colourful birds of paradise, sharks, kittens – all pinks, blues, whites and greys.
Coconut Matter Deodorants
MOOD deodorants by Coconut Matter are a fab find. Deodorants are really hard to find that are packaged plastic free, do not contain any nasty, harmful chemicals and WORK at the same time. For me, these do. I especially liked the SPRING deodorant. MOOD coconut oil natural deodorants are plastic free, stop body odour and improve underarm’s skin health. Hypoallergenic, Cruelty-free, Vegan, No Aluminium, No Baking Soda, No Parabens, No Silicone, No Phthalates, No Toxins, No Fragrance, No Alcohol, No Plastic.
The Bam&Boo Bamboo Oral Care
The Bam&Boo is a small and young company based in Lisbon aiming to bring more ecological sustainability into oral care. You can either get a subscription for toothbrushes or buy individual products of bamboo oral care. We have received a family pack, that is a good start to make essential swaps and a big step towards a zero waste bathroom.
Whirli Toy Subscription
Whirli is an innovative a sustainable way to buy children’s toys. It works on a subscription system: you subscribe, get tokens, buy toys with the tokens, enjoy toys, and when the kids are done with the toy, you send them back and pick new toys! It’s like a toy library, only, that the toy selection is interesting, full of educational toys, clever wooden and character toys, big hit books as well as Montessori and open end play toys. We received a mixture of toys: some favourites the children asked for, some educational ones and books too. They arrive without any sort of plastic packaging and they were used, but very well looked after. I’d say I would want this subscription to receive as a birthday or even Christmas present – and let the children choose what they want, swapping the toys in every few months.
SodaStream
Everyone knows SodaStream and everyone wanted to have one as a child. The awesomeness of making sparkling water at home has been around for decades and SodaStream now has cooler looking designs as ever. Saying no to the flavoured, fizzy drinks coming in single use plastic bottles is easy when you have one of these at home. One reusable SodaStream carbonating bottle can save up to 1282 single use plastic bottles from our planet per year. We love ours, not only use it every day to make soda water to drink, but it’s also helpful when you need soda water for recipes like pancakes, tempura batter – or even Aperol Spritz!

Great selection of products. I am looking for new bedding and PJ’s at the moment so I will be checking out OceanBluu.
I would love to try the Ecobox. Thanks for sharing! There is no excuse for not having a more sustainable lifestyle. 🙂
The toy subscription looks lovely. I’ve not seen anything like that before
I need to try some shampoo bars – just waiting to run out of my shampoo in bottles first! Also the Ecobox idea is a great one – such a good way to discover new things!
I LOVE all of these products and can’t decide which is my fave! lovely pics too x
I love the look of that clothing and I’ve been hearing such good things about Whirli! I’m also intrigued by those deodorants, might have to pick some up.
I’m definitely going to check out the toothbrushes and the deodorant. And the shampoo bars too! We are trying to be more mindful of our plastic use when out and about and the kids are especially tuned in!
