My Green And Ethical Picks Of The Month: May 2019

In Green & Ethical Living by eva.katona@yahoo.com2 Comments

I received and tested these products in exchange for my honest review.

One of my favourite thing about my blog is that I have this massive opportunity to make a difference. I use my blog to spread the word and make people aware of green and ethical issues. I find, that the best way is to do this by introducing other options, that are positive choices for people and planet. We don’t have to accept and buy the goods big labels and glossy adverts are trying to sell us. Money is a vote which you can use every time you go shopping. By using your spending power wisely you can help to create a better, healthier and greener world.

My Green And Ethical Picks Of The Month: May 2019

With that in mind, the idea to create a new monthly review series called “My Ethical And Green Picks Of The Month” was born. The posts are to introduce all the small shops and indie brands who produces and sells ethically produced, eco-friendly, organic, natural, cruelty – free and fairly traded goods, that are alternatives to everyday items such as fast fashion, processed food, cosmetics and cleaners containing toxins and harmful chemicals. My aim is to inspire you to choose positive buying. To reverse reducing the power of local communities, to stop overconsumption, abusing animals and wasting our natural resources.

Sustainable Underwear

Organic Basics is a Danish brand and they have sent me some of their Lite Briefs and their Lite Tank Tops These garments are made from TENCEL™Lyocell (eco-friendly wood pulp refined into a soft, sustainable thread) it’s so soft and silky I absolutely love them. The briefs are true to size, just the right fit and elasticity. They are made in Portugal, Organic Basics only with trusted, certified factory partners and produces their garments sustainably and ethically.

If you want to get a little discount on these (or anything from the website – they also sell bamboo toothbrushes!) use EVAOB to get 10% discount on your order. (Valid until 9/6/2019)

Eco Friendly Period Pads

I’m always keen to talk about periods as it’s all about being a woman!  We all different as when it comes to our periods, we are just as different. Some women prefer tampons, some transitioned using moon cups and some of them use pads. These are habits that are hard to break so we all stick to what worked. Luckily we can do it on a environmentally friendly way – whichever option we choose. Disposable, but organic, chemical-free and eco-friendly period pads are hard to find though, so I’d like to introduce LuxStore and its biodegradable period pads. They come in two sizes, individually wrapped – but the wrapping is made of maize cotton starch, so t’s completely biodegradable.

Ethical Fashion

Ninety Percent is a premium, London-based contemporary label launched in 2018 that’s trying something new: sharing 90% of their distributed profits between charitable causes and those who make their collection happen. Most of their jersey pieces are made from organic cotton while Tencel, (made from renewable wood pulp in a closed loop system), is one of the most heavily featured materials in their collection. I have received this really cool looking Tencel turtle-neck body from them which I really like, great colours, super soft and will be one of my favourites this summer! Just pop a skirt on and go!
