We are in the middle of moving house, so I was really pleased when Photowall found me to review their service and products. I’m sort of on a fence between being a maximalist and a minimalist. I hate clutter, but I love interior design and at that, I’m rather a maximalist with mixing styles, loving colours and textures. I especially like art deco, mid-century mixed and I often throw in far and middle eastern traditional folk accents. Call me eclectic, ok then. I also do love art prints. I think surrounding yourself with your favourite art pieces really transform your home into your very own sanctuary. It fills you with joy every time you glance at them. In my opinion, when you can’t afford the originals – you should still own them as prints. Or mix originals with prints. There’s no rule – just appreciation of art in the way that suits you.
I have big plans for our new home. For a start, I already planned to carry on with adding various gallery walls – I’d love one with art pieces and another one with photos. We used to have a large one in our old living room (the largest wall space in the flat) covered with our favourite prints and posters. I’d also like wallpapers incorporated – in the bedroom and in other smaller rooms.
Photowall kindly send me a selection of their digitally printed design-led products. I chose from a huge selection of prints and wallpapers, all customised the way I wanted them and printed to order.

They print everything on demand and digital printing is what makes it possible to perfectly customise the available motifs and designs.
Digital printing is actually a very eco-friendly way of manufacturing wall papers and murals because you can order just the right size and the right amount – nothing will get wasted or come out from storage years after it’s manufactured – which is one of the reasons that their products of such high quality.
Apart from wallpapers and murals, there are several posters, illustrations and art pieces available to decorate your walls with. You have the option to frame them or print them on canvas.
Furthermore, you can print your own photos or designs into any of the above: if you fancy a wall size mural of your favourite wedding photo, Photowall can make it happen and deliver it in 5-7 days worldwide for free. They also offer 100% money back guarantee within 30 days, in case you aren’t happy and return the item.
What I thought about it
The hardest part was to choose my favourites. There are thousands of fantastic designs and it was difficult to pick! In the end I chose the wallpaper design called Oases in Premium quality (the other option is Standard quality). Simply measure the walls and add the measurements to calculate how much you need. Just add 6-10 margin of error to be on the safe side.
I’ve not managed to put this up yet – but as soon as we move house, I’ll update the post. I also got a wallpaper kit with it, which contains everything you need to put up the wallpaper, from brush to spirit level. These are super handy and you can reuse them too.
Then, I have also ordered a couple of cute animal posters for the kids’ room:
Aren’t these cute? My bunny rabbit mad daughter will be absolutely delighted. I’ve ordered these with wall hangers not fames.
I have also ordered a few canvas prints, some of these are gifts for family members (Photowall prints make awesome gifts, just look at these). The Japanese cranes canvas is a gift for my mother-in-law and it looks great on her wall!
Quality of the products
It’s outstanding. No weird edges or smudges – all perfectly printed to the right size. They came in a protective wrapping and I put the print in the frames. I’m especially pleased with how the colours are super strong and lively. The wood and the fixtures are also lovely quality.
Shipping
Like I mentioned, it takes 5-7 days for shipping from Sweden with FedEx, and it’s a free service – they arrived in separate parcels within a few days.
Photowalls’ environmental efforts
Since it’s important to me – I’ll also share what Photowall does to be more sustainable in their business practices.
As I mentioned above, they don’t hold stock and everything is measure made, which means minimum wastage. Whatever waste is created due the printing process, goes to a Swedish environmental entrepreneur for recycling. The company recycle all other waste responsibly. The printing in in biodegradable and contains no harmful chemicals. With every purchase, Photowall plants a native tree with Vi Agroforestry. To ensure that the environmental standards in their supply chain are high, Photowall has a transparent and detailed sustainability strategy outlined.
