As I wrote it last week in my blog post about the 5 Eco-friendly Ways to Wrap Your Christmas Presents to me, reusable make up remover pads were one of the easiest eco-swap (and one of the first ones) I made. I still use one of the first sets I’ve been sent, they are now around 1.5 year olds, so probably due soon for a change. my experience with them is that they last quite a long time but when they reach the end of their lives they go hard and scruffy like old towels (like anything made of cotton). Nurturify kindly sent me some of their best selling, eco-friendly products including cotton pads.
How to use cotton pads
It’s a simple routine: use (wet or dry), rinse with warm water, use 2-3 times more like this, put them in a little wash bag or simply throw them into the washing machine and wash them with the rest of your laundry, dry, repeat. This way they should last over a year for sure.
About Nurturify
The birth story of Nurturify is also a beginning of a new life for founder Monowara, life after cancer. She founded Nurturify because she found great help in self-love and self-care during getting through the toughest challenges due to cancer. With her newly found gratitude and the help of nature she came up with the idea of helping others nurturing feelings of self worth, gratitude and love for the planet.
Nurturify cotton pads
This pack contains 20 ultra soft reusable cotton pads in a beautiful bamboo container (70% Bamboo cotton, 30% cotton) and laundry bag, all plastic-free and zero waste items in biodegradable packaging. The pads are OEKO-TEX & GOTS certified organic cotton. They are 100% organic & natural, fragrance free, no dyes or chemicals and hypoallergenic.
These pads are suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin, and, even for cleansing baby skin. They are easy to clean: just place the pads in the laundry bag, tie a knot to secure and wash in the washing machine at 40°C. Alternatively, wash by hand. Avoid fabric softeners and tumble drying for longer lasting pads.
I love them, they are my new favourites, truly super soft and gentle!
