Active wear that’s made with natural fibres is hard to find. You can get leggings and t-shirts but well-constructed, active and shape wear is hard to find. This is why I was so chuffed when Boody sent me a pair of their Boody Bamboo Active Wear leggings and sports bras. These are perfect for me for yoga, but also great for gym, running and all sorts of exercise.

Why bamboo?
Bamboo material is sustainable: it can grow quickly and in diverse climates, it can regenerate after cutting which means no need replanting (so it also helps to prevent soil erosion). Basically, just like grass. It also requires little maintenance and significantly less water than cotton. Bamboo’s extreme growth minimises CO2 and generates up to 35% more oxygen than equivalent stands of trees. Finally, a significant benefit of using bamboo as the organic base for textile fibres is that there is no need for pesticides or fertilisers when growing bamboo. Bamboo also contains a substance called bamboo-kun – an antimicrobial agent that gives the plant a natural resistance to pest and fungi infestation.
Good for your skin, good for Mother Earth.
What I though about it
As usual with bamboo items the Active 3/4 Leggings in black and the Padded Shaper Bra in black are super soft, stretchy and comfortable. I’ve ordered an XS from the bra (good fit) and a size S from the leggings (also good fit). I’m currently around size 10 in general thanks to lockdown snacking. The leggings are wonderfully constructed. So they’re perfect for exercise, especially yoga in my case and so is the bra, because it’s seamless. The pads are soft and removable. So really it is a subtle padding and lift, which is very comfortable too.)
Good movement and stretch to do all sorts of poses as well as staying where they should. From experience I know that bamboo washes well, dries quickly, has good absorbency and lasts for a long time.
All in all, very lovely products that I can highly recommend.
