I came across Lili’s work when browsing for Christmas present for my husband. As soon as scrolled through her portfolio on Etsy, it became clear to me, that I just found it! It’s quirky, it’s unusual and I absolutely love her drawing style.
Lili Di Prima is a graphic designer, who had a true passion for old family portraits and photos and in her art, she uniquely combines her profession with her passion by drawing family portraits.
I’m not going to keep you waiting, here’s a few examples of her bespoke portraits:
Aren’t they just lovely?
So I messaged her, that I’d like one these and she quickly responded that the easiest way is to commission her is to head over to her Etsy page and follow the instructions.
Lili works very fast and the first draft was ready within 5 days. I have sent her some photos of us and she sent back a picture with asking me if I like it and do I want any changes. I wanted a few minor changes – she worked based on the photos I’ve sent her and I’ve sent photos which were not so great for this purpose. I realised this when I received the first draft and with this in mind, I sent some others, which I thought she could work better with. And she did. A few days later I received the final version and I was so happy with it. Communicating with her was very smooth and efficient. She translated my vague directions into her drawing like reading my mind.
So this is our family portrait:
Which, in the meantime got bumped to a wedding anniversary present as that comes before Christmas and I can’t wait to give it to husband. Lucky he never reads my blog 😉

Oh and she even does pet portraits. How cute is this?
I received a discounted price for our portrait in exchange for this article. I genuinely love Lili’s work and I loved working with her.

Oh wow, these are great. What a great idea for a Christmas present! I know the grandparents would love one of the kids.
Thank you for joining #FamilyFunLinky x
What a lovely idea indeed! I love these, so original!
This is such a great idea for a personalised gift – and one you can be sure somebody else won’t already have got them. Genius!
These are so cute!
I absolutely love products like this, so ‘me’
Personalised gifts are by far my favourite thing to ‘give’ x
Lili was asked to create a portrait for my nieces wedding. It was a last minute gift idea that filled me with such joy. She said she would not have a problem with delivering the piece to me by June 7, 2019. I contacted her on June 6, 2019 to ask how the portrait was coming and if I would receive it on time. It turns out she had not started the portrait. She at first said she could have a first draft finished by 6/7 and then said it would be shipped in 3 to 5 days. I also realized she was in Italy and said I would find a way to have it printed. She cancelled the order. I kid you not. I would not recommend this woman to anyone. The incredible lack of professionalism is stunning. Add to that this was a wedding gift and I cannot believe anyone would be this inconsiderate and unprofessional.
