About Dundee Candle Works

Dundee Candle Works make traditional and handmade Scottish candles, diffusers and also gift sets – with one little, modern twist: the wax they use for their candles is sustainably sourced blend of coconut wax. They only use the finest natural ingredients and every candle reflects local history and culture. Their hand-poured products only contain natural fragrance oils and essential oils of the best quality and they produce everything in small batches. Not only the candles but the packaging is also eco-friendly, being 100% biodegradable, and they are all presented in a natural jute gift bag. Because they are a small business, they are able to take on custom orders too.

What I thought about the candles

I’ve received 3 lovely candles:

Marmalade & Lime Scented Candle 500ml – Top notes include orange zest and lime, heart notes of black pepper, lilac and thyme, with base notes of musk and white cedar. Burning time approximately 60 hours. RRP £40.-

Whisky Marmalade Scented Candle 180ml – Top notes of orange, mandarin and bergamot, heart notes of patchouli, sandalwood and vetiver with base notes of dark amber and musk. Burning time approximately 45 hours. RRP £18.-

Earl Grey & Verbena Scented Candle 180ml – Top notes of bergamot, orange and lemon; heart notes of cedar with base notes of oud. Burning time approximately 45 hours. RRP £18.-

The high quality of the candles are even noticeable as you open the jar, because of the wonderfully strong scent already present just by smelling the unlit candle. It burns clean and the fragrance combinations are luxurious and elegant. So is the packaging and the brandling. Nothing is overcomplicated: refined and polished look which is very gift-able. Yet the candle itself is a mix of chic and traditional scents. All the three candles fall into this playful combination: traditional and posh whisky paired marmalade – smells just as marvellous as it sounds. No harmful fumes obviously, when burning the candle, thanks to the natural coconut wax.
