Your protein intake matters

Protein is present in every cell in your body, this the component your body uses for building and repairing all the tissues. Including all the muscles, cartilage, skin, and blood too. Your body does not store protein, so you need to make sure you are getting your daily recommended intake. The DRI (Dietary Reference Intake) is 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. As I’m a vegetarian, it’ can be a bit challenging to get enough protein without eating meat. On most days I get enough protein from pulses, tofu, oats, nuts like almonds and cashews. But I don’t eat all of these on a daily basis.

Somebody protein

Some Body Banana Protein Powder And Pancake Mix From Superdrugs

These new products are a great way to get some extra protein in. Iv’e tried them both, in fact, my son tried them too. He’s on a very restricted diet (of white carbs only) so any extra nutrients count. He never eats meat for a start, just little bit of cheese. Which means, for him, an occasional protein bar or one of these pancakes are actually a must.

How did we like them?

We did like them both. The shake has a lovely and subtle banana flavour and smells a little bit like vanilla. It takes no time to prepare it, just scoop it into a drinking cup and add some water. Alternatively, you can also add it to normal pancakes, smoothies or porridge too. The pancake sachets make 2 regular American type of pancakes, and because they are completely sugar free, you can add whatever topping you prefer when they are ready. This is what we did: Bobcat had it with some chocolate powder and I chose some fresh strawberries to accompany my pancake. It was really yummy.
