I’m still nowhere near with writing up all about our 3 week holiday on the Central Coast in California. We did a lot and to my honest surprise: there is so much quality and educational entertainment for kids, even for the very little ones. During our visit, for a few days, the temperature went through the roof: right up to 40-42C. That’s way too warm, even for California. Welcome to the reality of global warming. So we had two options with the children: stay indoors or try to find somewhere outdoors, but safe in the heat. Our friends suggested Gilroy …
family holiday
We were on holiday in the States recently and stayed in San Jose for a few weeks, visiting friends. As we tried to combine quality indoor time (hiding from the heat) and lots of outdoor fun, we came across the Children’s Discovery Museum in San Jose. If you’re ever around and have a small child to entertain, don’t hesitate to pop by. It’s conveniently located next to a big parking facility if you arrive by car, and though public transportation is not great in the city, the tram has a stop nearby. It’s hard to miss it: a bright purple …
This summer we’re going on an overseas holiday, to California. Visiting friends, attending a wedding, driving a bit around. I know you probably think we’re surely crazy doing this with a 3 year old and a 14 months old. Well, we have some experience already: we did the same trip when my boy was 15 months old only, 2 years ago. He coped very well back then, but he was the easiest baby and small toddler to handle. (Now a little monster threenager.) However, my daughter is different in almost every ways. So it looks like, that we can’t rely …
Hotel Review: Meon Valley Marriott Hotel And Country Club
We picked Meon Valley Marriott Hotel And Country Club for five nights in August as a mini-holiday near home. As we checked the reviews on Tripadvisor it was clear that many families chose the hotel for being “children friendly“. We thought, the rooms are big, there’s golf for daddy and beauty treatments for mummy, small children can use the swimming pool, so it seems a great choice. All in all, it’s ok. It’s reasonable. For a start, the rooms are big enough. We booked a deluxe with two queen size beds, one for Bobcat and one for us. Babi slept in her …
Review: Aquatopia Antwerp – Doesn’t Worth The Money
A few weeks ago we visited my cousin who lives near Antwerp and we wanted to spend a couple of hours in Antwerp: visit some children-friendly place and have a nice lunch near the train station. We found both challenging. Our first idea was the zoo, but most of it was under reconstruction so we decided to visit Aquatopia which was just around the corner. Initially, we thought we will spend about 2 hours in there, but we were done in an hour including some soft play time. And that was the best part of it. It’s very small, not much to …
Bambara Spa Hotel Hungary – the perfect family hotel
Hungary is famous of its thermal water and bath culture. Not only the capital, Budapest: there are lots of great hidden gems of spa and wellness hotels in the country up to the highest European standards. The one we visited during our winter stay was the Magical Bambara Hotel**** Premium It is about an hour and a half drive from Budapest, mostly on motorway. It was a shame, that it was too cold for an outdoor walk during our stay (-12C, ouch) because the hotel is in the middle of the forest bounded by nature conservation area built on a 4 acre woody …
