Broccoli is such a staple in our house. Not that the kids eat it, mind you, but me and my husband… I think we eat broccoli every other day in some format. Roasted, as a side dish, as a soup, anything! It’s almost like a meat substitute; so filling. And nutritious! That’s why today we wanted to bring you a broccoli soup recipe. It is not only simple, and creamy, but vegan too! It’s also almost zero waste: add the stalk too! Slice it up and in it goes! This is an easy peasy soup. You can’t go wrong with …
vegan
It’s so good to have a big bowl of spicy and warm comfort food on a cold winter day. Vegetarian and vegan curries can satisfy the pickiest meat eaters as well. The spices do the trick. If you can’t get vegan paneer, you can substitute it for other vegan cheese, as long as it’s soft enough. (Of course, you can substitute the vegan paneer for traditional paneer if you want to. Vegan paneer is now available in a lot of shops though, online or in health shops.) We love it, it’s one of our standard midweek meals. It’s also quite …
To be fair, it’s not much of a recipe, rather just an idea to share. My boy is on a restricted diet, which is beyond being a picky eater. He has sensory issues with food, with lots of food groups. So I try everything to sneak some extra goodness …
I love to cook and I normally use fresh ingredients, including the herbs and the spices. But there are days when I don’t feel to cook everything from the scratch, because it’s been a busy day, I’m too tired or the kids are just too handful. I’m not pretending I never used boxed meals from the supermarket, but I don’t like them, they often too bland or too salty for my taste. If I’m short on time, I just toss some veggies into my wok pan and cook some rice or couscous on the side. For these occasions cook sauces …
Have you ever tried Caribbean food? It’s vibrant, colourful and bursting with flavours. The combination of sweet and piquant, the mild fruity flavours and the aromatic hot sauces are a special fusion of a multicultural history. African, Latin-American, Spanish, Creole and some other cuisines are all blended into Caribbean flavours. I absolutely love it, however, it is traditionally heavily meat based. But with a little twists here and there, you can cook great vegetarian or vegan Caribbean style food at home. If you are in London during the annual Caribbean Food Week (21-28 of August 2017), then make sure you …
