What is ToyAid?
ToyAid is helping to raise money for Global’s Make Some Noise campaign. They have teamed up with 30+ companies in the toy & entertainment industry. Some are donating a cash lump sum but others are donating the proceeds of sales to the charity. The companies donating proceeds have also offered a minimum pledge so should proceeds not reach that amount, they will make up the difference.
ToyAid is a movement has been running through June that is supported by the toy-and-entertainment industry to raise money for people in the UK who need our support now more than ever.
Their objectives
Because of the lockdown measures of COVID-19, small charities that work so hard on a voluntary basis have been severely affected. ToyAid is a movement that aims to support these smaller charities that every day and every year specifically support disadvantaged children and young people – and their families that are most in need now.
What brands are involved?
Over 30 brands like Kids Knows Best, TOMY, Playmobil, SEGA, Ravensburger, Smyths Toys – to mention a few.
We picked the Articulate For Kids board game, which has been included in the many toys supporting the campaign. It’s the spectacularly successful description game can now be played by kids as young as 6 and as old as 12. But even my daughter at the age of 4 can play with a little help and for Bobcat, it’s super educational: encouraging him to use spoken language and learn new words. Since he has ASD and still struggles with speech, this game is very helpful and fun at the same time.
Smyths Toys will be donating £50,000 to the Toy Aid movement to raise money with Make Some Noise for charities in the UK. In addition toy manufactures are pledging a minimum 10% from the sale of each toys included in the campaign – like Articulate For Kids.
