Statement furniture
Who doesn’t love the idea of creating a bold statement and impact in your home? Sometimes the best way to do this is with a piece of statement furniture. There are a variety of different ways that you can to do this, however, one of the best ways to make a statement with your furniture choice is by choosing to incorporate tub chairs into your interior design. Tub chairs are not only incredibly stylish, but they are also comfortable and dramatic too. Exactly what you are going to want when you are ensuring that your home looks beautiful.
Bringing the outside in
One trend that seems to have become more and more popular of late is the idea that you can bring the outside in. Plants are not only a great way to bring texture and colour to your indoor space, but plants are also known to be a great way to improve the quality of the air that you breathe in on a daily basis. Not only are plants a great way to add a sense of style to your home, but they are also great for families too. You can ensure that everyone has a part to play in looking after them, particularly if you are thinking about growing your fruit, vegetables or herbs inside your home.
Statement ceilings
Now, we know that not many people will stand and stare at the ceiling in your home, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t pay the ceiling some attention. During 2018, statement ceilings became a thing. The way that you decide to make them stand out is down to you, some may go for a bright and bold colour, a print or perhaps something a little more out there such as baskets. The main aim should always to be to make sure that your room looks amazing, from the very top to the very bottom.
Bright touches
Of course, neutral colour schemes are still a huge part of interior design during 2018, but that doesn’t mean that you have to ignore colour completely. Neutral colour schemes can work really well with bright splashes of colour, and this is definitely something that we have seen throughout 2018. The colour that you go for will really depend on your own personal taste, however, blues and yellows are great choices to make as they not only work with more muted colours such as grey and beige, but they are also incredibly eye catching too.
Dark wood furniture
For a while now, furniture has definitely been inspired by the Scandinavian approach. This means that the wood has been light and bleached and the style has been subtle and indiscreet. However, for 2018, it seems that this particular trend might not be quite as possible. In fact, quite the opposite. Dark woods such as oak, mahogany and even walnut are making a huge impact in interior design, adding depth to any room and ensuring that it looks dramatic and interesting.
Metallics
If you are looking for a modern interior design trend, then you won’t go far wrong with metallic. Metallic touches are not only eye-catching and dramatic but they are effortlessly stylish, which makes them incredibly popular choices for a variety of homes. Whilst it used to be the case that people would opt for yellow and rose gold touches, now it seems that brass and nickel are becoming more popular choices. Mainly because they are not only fun, but they also add an organic element to your space too.
Neutrals
We have already covered the fact that neutrals are a popular choice for many homes, and this looks set to stay. Neutral colour schemes are not only ideal to lighten a space and give it a sense of being open. But they are also great because they work with a variety of pieces of furniture and furnishings too.
As you can see 2018 has been a great year for interior design, it has been a year that is packed full of amazing styles and beautiful touches. We are sure that this is set to continue and we are excited about what 2019 could also bring.

You are so right, briging the outside inside as well as having dark themed wood designed items is such a trend now. We are trying to get our home looking trendy as well.
I’m also in the middle of some renovations, tiring but worth it in the end.
